Why is it ok for Jim Penniston to make up stuff but not for Larry Warren? Doesn't seem fair that.
JP- “In Mid-March a temporary duty (TDY) assignment came my way that took me to Egypt for the first operation Bright Star desert war games. I spent two weeks at a place called Area A, got sunburned, ate bad food, and fell off a camel. I was sad to learn that King tut was on a major U.S. museum tour, but at least I got to see the pyramids”. – Larry Warren from Left at East Gate, Page 71.
The truth i...s the Bright Star exercise was first conducted in fall of 1980, before Larry Warren was even out of technical school in Texas, well before arriving at RAF Bentwaters. The next Bright Star exercise was conducted in the fall of 1981 months after Larry was discharged from the USAF. He claimed to have been there in March of 1981.
Additionally anyone who was going to Site Alpha, which is something totally different than Bright Star exercise. Would have had to be PRP certified, and able to carry an M-16, which Larry was not certified PRP or able to carry a weapon, because he was placed on a no-guns list. By the way I was in-charge of all TDYs and Larry never went TDY, he was in the latter stages of administrative discharge.
“I'm not upset that you lied to all of us yet another time, I'm upset that from now on none of us can believe you.” ― James Penniston
